Following the previous entries where a certain synchronicity (or acasual connection between seemingly unrelated events) happened in Deviant Art with the upload of very similar works at the same of people in very different parts of the world, a development of that hypothesis (for which there is evidence in the previous journal entry "CDE: Synchronicity") is being presented here in this new entry.

The concept of many individuals expressing the very same idea (or at least the same concept in different works) is by no means a new discovery. The Hegelian concept of Zeitgeist, as spirit of the times, already understood this phenomenon of synchronicty in the postulation of the same concetps and images throughout the world at the same time.

What the concept of Zeitgeist (under this perspective, and it has very little or nothing to do with the movie, so please do not relate it to that) implied, or more actually, implies, is that there exists a common source for the ideas of ALL indidividuals, regardless place, but it IS determined by Time. That is that very different individuals in very different contexts will postulate the same ideas because these ideas come from a region which is universal to humans, this region is calles, the collective unconscious.

What results from this is a hypthesis which states that certain art and/or ideas (which for the unconscious are the same as in ancient times inspiration for philosophy and art and history came from the same Muses) come from a region of the collective unconscious which connects all human minds since they all form part of it just as branches form part of a same tree trunk. The Zeitgeist however represents a certain unity within this collective unconscious which at a given time will inspire certain individuals with ideas which are pertinent to their time.

The analogy of this are dreams. These artists, while sometimes transgressors of society, will express the ideas which that society needs to compensate its one sided state of mind, just as dreams occur with ideas and feeling toned images to compensate an individuals one sided state of conscious mind. This theory comes from Psychoanalysis and Analytic Psychology.

So it is quite understandable that an artist is inspired by a unitary Mind in the collective unconscious to give out a message, and not only rational but also artistically as in the ancient beliefe in divine inspiration, to compensate for a dangerous onesidedness of his times.

A unitary Mind within the collective unconscious uses the artist as a medium to transmit a message which being not only rational but artsitic, and hence attractive to the individuals, affects the social situation in the individual´s time in history, almost regulating the point of view in his times.

The result of this is that the artist is more than an aesthetic agent, but some, in their collective inspiration, messengers of messages which although not wholey rational can and should help to compensate for problems in his time.

Just as a dream can help a troubled individual understand the root of his or her problem which devastates them, the artist can have an answer, maybe not rational but true answers to humanity wide problems rarely are, to the problems which devaste the society or world that he or she lives in.
